Role:

 

PE Global are looking for a Battery & Build/Test Engineer to work on contract for an Engine Company based in Peterborough. This is a 12 month + contract position and fully onsite given the nature of the role.

 

As a Battery Build and Test Engineer you will report directly to the Area Manager. You will be responsible for the Co-ordination and build of our Electrification Program Products including overseeing End of line Testing activities. You will work closely with the Advanced Powertrain System Development team leads to ensure we are meeting our Product and Technical Objectives. You will also be required to support activities with our external service suppliers and customers.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and/or direct Build activities of Electrical Powertrain Components.
  • Conduct and/or direct Validation Test activities.
  • Carry out Data analysis on results and present to Validation Team.
  • As Part of Continuous Improvements, you will support/write Process and Safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with Facilities Team to ensure any Facility Requirements are understood.

 

Required Experience

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering curriculum or HNC with at least 6 years demonstratable experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (coaching, communication, teamwork)
  • Excellent problem solver
  • Self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
  • Self-confidence and a ‘passion for the product’ are personal qualities needed to succeed in this high-pressure environment.

 

Relevant Experience

  • Experience in power system level performance
  • Experienced in the use of testbed software, calibration tools, and test data logging systems.
  • Hands on engine testing, Battery testing and problem-solving experience

 

Desirable experience/skills:

  • Previous leadership experience (direct or in-direct)
  • Project Management methods and processes
  • Experience with Development through New Product Introduction (NPI) Process
