PE Global Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 for a leading multi-national Healthcare client based in Wexford.

This is a permanent positions of 37.5 hours per week – can be 4 days a week or 5 days.

Professional/Clinical:

  • Manage patient care to the highest professional standards.
  • Liaise and collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that high quality renal care is provided to patients.
  • To be responsible for ensuring provision of a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients, relatives, visitors.
  • Keep up to date with changing policies, practices and innovations within nursing and renal care, and contribute to, and be supportive of, on-going professional and service developments the clinic.
  • Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership, demonstrating clinical competence and expertise in renal care nursing, display a sound knowledge of symptom management at all times, and provide clinical leadership when deputising for the Clinic Manager.
  • Act in a coaching and mentoring capacity to nursing staff in assessing, planning, implementing and manage the implementation of best practice policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and supervision to the front-line staff where appropriate in order to assist them in their role.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and professional requirements in clinical practice and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance of all staff with medication incident reporting procedures and facilitate learning of same.

MANAGEMENT / ADMINISTRATION:

  • To effectively manage the activities of the Clinic in the absence of the higher management.
  • To act up for the Clinic Manager 2 with continuing responsibility as required.
  • In collaboration with Clinic Manager 2, manage all resources efficiently and effectively.
  • To liaise closely with patient’s parent unit to ensure patients receive continuity of care.
  • Liaise closely with all staff concerning patient needs.
  • Ensure that appropriate, accurate and concise records are maintained at all times (including staff mandatory training records, planned /unplanned leave, duty roster for example).
  • Respond promptly to comments, complaints or issues raised by patients, families or visitors.
  • Collaborate with higher management in order to lead and implement change with reference to any national reforms relating to nursing and renal care practices, policies and procedures.
  • Attend regular team meetings to discuss operational practice or clinic issues.

Skills & Experience Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of 4 years post registration experience with 3 years minimum in renal care – preferable.
  • Completed the P. Grad Dip. In Nursing Specialist – Renal or be willing to undertake this course.
  • Ability to maintain dignity, privacy and respect of all patients.
  • Excellent organisation and self-management skills.
  • To have detailed knowledge of manual handling regulations particularly with regards to the moving and handling of patients. To be responsible for ensuring that assessment of patient’s manual handling needs are carried out.
