Consultant Psychiatrist – Psychiatry of Old Age

Location: Munster

Start Date: January 2026 

Contract Type: 12 months

Salary Scale: €233,527 – €280,513

PE Global Locum Express is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Psychiatry of Old Age. This is a permanent opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality, community-oriented mental health care to older adults across Waterford County.

About the Role:

• Continuity-of-care model across inpatient and outpatient settings

• Clinical leadership within a hospital-linked, community-based service

• Service includes acute psychiatric care, domiciliary visits, nursing home assessments, and POA consultation-liaison

• Collaboration with CMHTs, acute hospital services, and GPs

Essential Requirements:

• Active Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) in Psychiatry of Old Age

• Available to start January 2026

• Access to transport is essential

• Three signed references spanning a minimum of 5 years (including current employer)

• Signed Introduction Declaration Form confirming no work in ROI in past 36 months and no applications to HSE in the last 24 months
