PE Global is currently recruiting for an EHS Officer on behalf of our client based in Cork. This is an initial 6-month contract role.

Work with Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Management in driving a Safety Culture which engages associates and improves EHSS performance at the Manufacturing Facility.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities

 

  • Identify and control EHS+S hazards and oversee risk assessment processes, developing and implementing related preventative countermeasures.
  • Assist in the development of monthly EHS+S reports as directed by Department Manager.
  • Coordinate and oversee safety training records database.
  • Conduct safety surveys and safety audits on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness drills.
  • Review Safety Data Sheets for potential hazards and monitor and/or implement control programs.
  • Support compliance to ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems and ISO45001:2018 Occupational health and safety management systems standards.
  • Assist in specifying, sourcing and ordering associate safety equipment. Administer the “EHS+S Great Ideas” associate recognition program

Qualifications

  • NFQ level 6 / Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with emphasis in Safety and course work in Chemistry preferred.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with a variety of people at various technical and management levels.
  • Good computer skills (work processing, spreadsheets, graphics, statistical tools, etc.).
  • Proficiency in time, organization, and project management.
  • Able to make independent decisions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to maintain confidential business information.
  • Ability to initiate action to resolve problems and improve processes.
