PE Global is currently recruiting for an Electrical Lead Technician for our biopharmaceutical client in South Dublin. This is a permanent, onsite role.

About the role:

  • Ensure safety of sites electrical systems
  • Provide next level electrical/equipment Subject Matter Expert support to Maintenance Technicians for main issues
  • Champion electrical safe working practices and guides continuous improvement of LOTO system
  • Provide SME support for Projects and Shutdown Planning
  • Expected Takeda leadership behaviours

 

How you will contribute:

Maintenance Programs

  • Manage sites electrical preventative maintenance program
  • Manage sites ATEX inspection and maintenance program

 

Technician Training

  • Support upskilling of Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting electrical problems
  • Develop and deliver OJT training modules

 

Main Issue Support

  • Take the lead on resolving electrical issues downtime
  • Provide hands-on support for urgent breakdowns and plant issues

 

Work Order Review

  • Review work orders associated with electrical issues or repair
  • Ensure work completed to the appropriate standards

 

EHS Champion

  • Champion electrical safe working practices
  • Identify hazard observations (records in Beacon system)
  • Support/Leads(as required) Beacon event investigations
  • Guide assigned resolution actions
  • Support risk assessments
  • Electrical Permit Authorizer

 

Agile Advocate

  • Support RCA’s relating to electrical equipment / Lead RCA’s where required
  • Improve of permitting and LOTO system
  • Improve sites electrical SOPs/Job Plans/Standard Works
  • Support Equipment/Reliability Engineers on downtime reduction and improved asset care
  • Champion use of predictive technologies to help reduce downtime and shutdown windows

 

Project Support

  • Provide support on electrical equipment design, operation, and maintenance
  • Provide support on recommended spares holding
  • Author updates required to electrical maintenance procedures
  • Shutdown Planning
  • Support Planner/Scheduler in planning electrical aspects of shutdown
  • Manage shutdown contractors
  • Support LOTO of equipment
  • Major Downtime Coordination and Communication
  • Support Maintenance Technician’s on communications for major break downs
  • Provide electrical SME support
  • Attend all Maintenance Tier Meetings
  • Represent Maintenance at Production/Packaging Tier Meetings

 

Other

  • Maintain electrical drawings for the site
  • Maintain CMMS (SAP) with preventative maintenance routines for electrical equipment
  • Ensure all electrical maintenance and testing is documented
  • Ensure correct spares are specified and maintained at levels to maintain operations
  • Collaborate with EHS to ensure close out of investigations and associated actions
  • Manage small E&I projects – secondments to larger projects
  • Provide oversight of all electrical contractors on site
  • Participate in site EHS programmes concerning risk management and risk reduction
  • Lead by example regarding electrical hazard observation and elimination

 

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Knowledge of ETCI regulations, ATEX, safe work practices, cGxP regulations and LEAN maintenance

What you bring to the role:

  • Apprenticeship as Electrician or technical school degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years’ plus experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment with maintenance experience being a distinct advantage
  • Experience with PLC’s, instrumentation and controls desirable
  • Pharmaceutical experience a distinct advantage
  • Knowledgeable of codes and standards concerning electrical safety
  • Experienced and can maintain ATEX equipment
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical safe work practices
  • Experienced in contractor management and management
  • Read and interpret Loop, P&ID, Wire, and Electrical drawings
  • Author/owner of electrical maintenance SOPs and job plans
  • Investigations, perform RCA’s and implement change controls
  • Compliance mindset and ensures all work documented
  • Safe working practices and electrical safety management
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) / SAP an advantage
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
