PE Global is currently recruiting for an Environmental Officer for an initial 18-month contract role with a Health Service client based in Leamington Spa.
The role:
Working alongside the Environmental Manager, to assist with the Implementation and management of the environmental management system and reporting systems to ISO and DHSC standards/requirements.
Responsibilities:

reporting systems to ISO and DHSC standards/requirements
- Ensuring that EMS requirements are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.
- Ensuring that sufficient resources are allocated for the proper implementation of the environmental policy and the EMS.
- Regular review the policy and the effectiveness of the EMS, and ensure that the necessary changes are made.
- The EMR, the DEMR, the EMS Committee and Management shall undertake the EMS management review annually to ensure management commitment and integration of the
- EMS with business strategies for its implementation and continual improvement.
- Co-ordinate and lead the team to ensure that all aspects of the QMS & H&S Systems are maintained: Accident & Incident Reporting, Risk Assessments, Change Controls, CAPAs,
- NCs, Customer Complaints and all other Quality Records.
- Act as Audit Lead for all Safety, Regulatory and Client audits.
- Ensure that H&S and Quality KPIs are collected and reported to Site Management and DHSC on a monthly basis or as required.
Requirements:
- Significant experience within the management of Environmental Management systems
and processes within an operational laboratory environment.
- Experience with ‘Ideagen Qpulse’ Quality Management System would be a preference
- Experience in leading and driving forward, establishing, and implementing new environmental management systems or re-design.
- Experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including assessment bodies on all areas of quality and compliance.
- Experience in conducting audits and hosting external auditors.
- An understanding of how the sites procedures relate in the larger regulatory environment and an ability to place them in context
- An excellent awareness of ISO standards
- Experience working within a laboratory setting working to relevant ISO accreditation standards; ISO 14001, ISO9001.
- A creative thinker with the ability to solve complex problems, driving forward change in a fast paced environment.
