PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Environmental Specialist to join our client, a semi-state power generation entity based in Dublin. This is a permanent position and the role is paying an excellent salary and benefits package.

 

 Key Responsibilities

 

  • Fully embracing The Client’s Safety & Environmental culture and compliance with all relevant health and safety and environmental obligations.
  • Lead the wider business in delivering on its regulatory responsibilities in relation to the impending Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
  • Take a lead role in identify of requirements for and development of internal technical procedures and processes relating to CSRD Regulatory compliance.
  • Manage external reporting in relation to key environmental and sustainable metrics including pollution to the environment, water usage, waste management, resource management, carbon expenditure as well as social and governance requirements.
  • Provide support/coordinaton to Waste Manager / Project Manager / PIC in relation to 60 Depot Waste Licences e.g. data review and annual waste permit returns.
  • Provide environmental advice and support to the environmental group and wider Business units in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and update relevant environmental and sustainability Policy, Company Standards, Procedures, Guides, industry best practice documents etc.
  • Support the operation, development and maintenance of various aspects and registers in the Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Support the team in the collation of data, information, preparation and delivery of environmental compliance reporting.
  • Take a lead role in the management and delivery of relevant environmental documentation through OneSource in a timely manner ensuring the document is robust and fit for use by the business.
  • Undertake environmental audits as required.
  • Participate in and learn from knowledge sharing exercises with colleagues.
  • Take a lead role in preparation of tender documentation (specifications, evaluations reports, etc.) for various contracts and framework drawdowns which engage contractors to undertake various environmental studies, assessments, reports, surveys etc.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other teams across the organisation to successfully deliver projects in a timely manner.

 

 

Experience and Qualifications 

 

Essential 

 

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Experience and knowledge of the environmental regulatory requirements and industry best practice approaches, within Ireland and the EU as they relate to the client.
  • Awareness of CSRD regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in leading and managing area with strong regulatory requirements and their obligations and to initiate necessary work with limited oversight to deliver effective and robust outcomes for the organisation.
  • Demonstrate ability to coordinate, contribute, lead or project manage on a range of environmental tasks or projects in a timely manner including report writing.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct efficient decision making and problem solving in collaboration with other key stakeholders.
  • A professional manner with strong inter-personal skills, with an ability to communicate at all levels and deliver high performance results.
  • A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to deliver on project requirements.
  • The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and technical report writing skills, the ability to make quality decisions and judgments, have knowledge of Geographical Information Systems software packages and an ability to interact with clients.
