PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Health and Safety officer to join our client, a rapidly growing commercial construction company based in Dublin. 

The Role: 

Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel & site safety.  

Duties will involve but are not limited to the following: 

  • Support the development of OHS policies and programs.
  • Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery, etc.)
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
  • Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
  • Initiate training of employees and executives where applicable
  • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
  • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances, etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
  • Prepare reports for upper management.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate should have 7+ experience in the construction industry. 
  • Previous experience managing all aspects of environmental health & safety on site including document review and carrying out weekly audits is essential. 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, training and presentation skills including reporting to Health & Safety Manager and Company Directors.
  • Large scale commercial projects will give a candidate  an added advantage when applying for this role.
