PE Global is currently recruiting for a HR Generalist for our leading multi-national client based in Peterlee, UK.

As a HR Generalist, you will be required to provide a comprehensive range of HR support to leaders and employees across the Peterlee facility. This support includes HR advice and coaching on areas such as recruitment of future talent, complex employee relations, career planning, driving engagement, Diversity, and Inclusion, implementing HR transformation activities such as BIQ, providing professional communications and promoting positive employee relations with Unite trade union.

 

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Develop and maintain good relationships with all employees, JCC and Trade Union representatives in order to encourage and promote good employee relations at all times, assisting where appropriate with issues/problems raised as and when appropriate
  • Provide advice, support and coaching to leaders dealing with employee relations
  • Advise and provide coaching on all HR policies and processes
  • Partner with Internal Talent Recruiter to lead selection activity on site, actively managing the process to meet agreed timescales.
  • Liaise with managers to fill vacancies, supporting the approval process through to managing assessment centres and interviews for future talent Business Transformation
  • Run workshops on process improvement strategies within HR and on people management issues
  • Coach leaders through periods of change and identify opportunities to fully maximise people resources

 Policies:

  • Ensure the integrity of all HR processes, systems, and documentation in accordance with legislation, best practice, and organisational requirements
  • Support the development and review of HR policies, documentation, guidance, toolkits and handbooks
  • Assist in the design and implementation of efficient HR administration processes within the quality framework

Service Delivery:

  • Ensure a professional and value-added HR service is provided at all times
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation and best practice, ensuring on-going CPD requirements are met
  • Build and maintain relationships with external bodies, g. CIPD
  • Keep informed of external developments in the field of Human Resources and adopt best practices developing self in order to maximise professional competence and personal contribution to the role

Communications:

  • Engage employees through credible, reliable, and measurable communications programs that support business objectives
  • Create proactive and strategic integrated communications in support of a variety of HR initiatives such as diversity and inclusion, performance management, compensation, and employee recruitment and retention

Skills, experiences & qualifications you will have:

  • CIPD qualified or working towards
  • Experience of advising staff on the employee relations
  • Interest in HR personal development and understanding of the nature of the work
  • Understanding the need for HR being customer service focused
  • Ability to work effectively with trade unions
  • Experience of advising on HR policies and procedures and up to date knowledge of employment law
  • Experience of working to deadlines in a pressurized environment with constant interruption
  • Good IT skills with a working knowledge of Windows (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of people at all levels
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, but be able to work on own initiative
  • A spirit of co-operation, with the aim of meeting the department aims and objectives
  • Ability to organize and prioritise own workload

 Experience: 

  • Degree in Business or HR Management
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of HR databases
