PE Global Healthcare is recruiting Intellectual Disability Nurses for a prestigious Client Based in Galway.
Duties Involve:
- Have a positive attitude towards working with persons with an intellectual disability and help to ensure that they lead as normal and enjoyable a life as possible.
- Treat each person with an intellectual disability as an individual and at all times acknowledge and respect the rights and personal dignity of the person with an intellectual disability.
- Establish and maintain relationships with adults with disabilities that are based on respect and equality and that promote their independence.
- Actively pursue and ensure the delivery of a person centred service, through the delivery of Personal Outcomes. Be involved as a Key worker and assist new staff in this role. Record and monitor outcomes and track progress.
- Formulate and implement programmes designed for the needs of the individual, in co-operation with the multidisciplinary team as required.
- Promote community integration and maximum participation for individuals.
Applicant Requirements:
- Applicants must be eligible to work in Ireland.
- Applicants must Be registered with the NMBI as an RNID or RGN and hold an active NMBI Pin.
- A clean, full, Irish driving licence is an essential requirement of the post.
- Experience of working with people with challenging behaviour is an advantage.
- Good judgement, discretion and confidentiality
- Creative problem solving skills
- The ability to work independently and seek support from interdisciplinary colleagues as appropriate.
- Candidates should have a good level of patience and creativity
- Flexibility is required for this post
