Investment Analyst

This organisation controls Ireland’s sovereign development fund which invests on a commercial basis in a manner designed to support economic activity and employment in Ireland. Strategy focuses on making transformational investments across its impact themes of Climate, Housing and Enabling Investments, Indigenous Businesses and Food and Agriculture. The fund invests across a variety of sectors, instruments (e.g. equity or debt) and asset classes (e.g. venture capital, private equity).


Summary of the Role


This organisation is looking to hire up to four Investment Analysts. This role offers a chance for talented individuals to join a team focused on delivering the company’s investment strategy. It is ideal for candidates with some professional experience looking to transition into an investment role or further develop their skills in a broad-focused sovereign fund.

The position provides exposure to various industries and asset classes, including venture capital, growth equity, private equity, and private credit. Successful candidates will become integral team members in areas like Climate, Housing and Enabling Investments, Indigenous Businesses, and Food and Agriculture. Candidates can indicate their preferred focus area when applying.

In addition to on-the-job training, successful candidates will participate in the company’s Investor Development Programme, which includes external training courses, personal development opportunities, training from global asset managers or banks, and potential secondment opportunities with investees.

The programme lasts three years, and candidates will join the company on a three-year fixed-term contract. Team members are expected to remain flexible and apply their skills to various investment types as needed.


Principal Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of transactions (origination, execution, portfolio management)
  • Produce high-quality investment papers
  • Conduct company and industry research
  • Perform financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and valuations
  • Collaborate with clients, co-investors, partners, service providers, and intermediaries to create new opportunities and proposals
  • Manage deal execution projects



  • A third-level qualification in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Scientific, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • A strong interest in investment or developing expertise in investment
  • Open to individuals with 2 to 4 years of professional experience
  • Experience in corporate finance, investment appraisal, or commercial/financial due diligence is advantageous
