Job Overview:

PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Maintenance Electrician to join our client on a permanent basis. The role is based in a well-known hospital in Cork City.

The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment within the hospital. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and emergency backup systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults and issues in a timely manner.
  • Install, upgrade, and modify electrical systems and equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and engineering staff to support hospital operations.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and provide technical support during power outages or electrical emergencies.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Electrician trade qualification (e.g., FETAC Level 6 Electrical Trade Certification).
  • At least 4 years of experience as a maintenance electrician, preferably in a healthcare, HSE or critical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Proficient in using a variety of testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Availability for on-call duty and emergencies as required.
