PE Global are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join a reputable Oil & Energy company based in Manchester. This is a contract position with high chance of Temp to Perm.

 

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer within our {BU} plant, you be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all equipment and efficient scheduling of repairs of plant and machinery and other general maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency for the business. You will work in collaboration with key functions of the business in order to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and achieve set strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes. As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer , you will be responsible for the continuous running of buildings, plant, equipment and machinery, utilizing the AIMS Maintenance database system to oversee routine maintenance and organise repairs. As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will carry out core activities including; conducting periodic maintenance checks, supporting equipment upgrades and machinery modifications, identifying faults, investigating equipment breakdowns and monitoring the performance of equipment after repairs have been carried out.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all company policies surrounding stock, health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met and improved upon as identified.
  • Fully accountable for achieving all relevant KPIs
  • Contribute to maintenance strategies, procedures and methods.
  • Diagnose breakdown faults – Which range from electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic
  • Repair/maintain CNC machinery in both reactive as well as planned preventative maintenance (PPM), to always ensure optimum production capacity. Ensure that any unresolved technical problems are escalated to the Engineering Manager in a timely fashion.
  • Fit new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly.
  • Liaise with departments and other engineering and production colleagues.
  • Arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components.
  • Maintain maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
  • Monitor and control maintenance costs.
  • Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.
  • Write maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.

 

 

Required Experience

  • Experience with CNC, rubber injection moulding and manual machines
  • Experience with PLC’s, servo drives, encoders, contactors and safety systems
  • Able to read and interpret SLD’s and alter/design circuit diagrams when needed
  • Knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics including schematics
  • HNC minimum with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Time served apprentice in the electrical industry
    Desirable
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering along with certification in mechanical engineering
  • 5 years’ minimum in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Mazak, Weingartner, Puma & Okuma HMI systems
    Skills, training or special knowledge
  • PLC’s, electrical fault finding & understanding SLD’s
  • CNC fault finding and operation skills
  • Hydraulic and pneumatics knowledge
