PE Global Healthcare is currently recruiting for a number of Physiotherapist positions both Basic Grade and Senior for a leading multi-national Healthcare client based in North Dublin.

These are permanent Part Time or Full-Time positions. Locum candidates may be considered.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine laboratory scientific work to the highest standard in accordance with the Department’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Receive training and maintain competence in all relevant areas of the laboratory services.
  • Support colleagues and work collaboratively with all team members.
  • In co-operation with the Head of Department, participate in service development and improvement.
  • Participate as required in the registration, custody and stock level of reagents and other consumables.
  • Receive and record details of non-conformances, complaints and defects in supplies and equipment, investigate the circumstances with the appropriate team members, take the necessary corrective action and report according to procedure.
  • Participate in evaluating equipment, reagents, and consumables.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with international and national guidelines and standards for the provision of service and actively participate in internal quality control and external quality assessment.
  • Participate in performance review and in continuous professional development.
  • Participate in facilitating arrangements for educating and training staff.
  • Participate in the on-call rota as required.
  • Adhere to quality standards and ensuring a quality service is always provided.
  • The post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post and to contribute to the development of the post whilst in office.
  • Actively and positively support the Hospital in maintaining JCI and ISO15189 accreditation and any other best practice standards or guidelines that may apply to diagnostic laboratories.
  • Participate in ensuring that effective safety procedures are in place to comply with health and safety regulations, ensuring safe working practices and a safe working environment.

 Essential

Candidates for appointment must possess: 

  • Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Science from the Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT). Or
  • Bachelor of Science (Honours) Biomedical Science, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). Or
  • Bachelor of science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from the Joint University College Cork – Cork Institute of Technology course AND Diploma in Clinical Laboratory Practice. Or
  • Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) or Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) AND Bachelor of Science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) from the University of Dublin/Dublin Institute of Technology (Awarded prior to 2002). Or
  • Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) AND BSc (Honours) Biomedical Sciences, University College Cork (UCC). (Awarded prior to 2013). Or
  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, (DIT) or the Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) (Awarded prior to 1994). Or
  • Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science awarded before 1997 by Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) or Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT). Or
  • An equivalent qualification validated by the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM).
  • Demonstrate evidence of Continuous Professional Development. And  
  • Membership or eligibility for Membership/Fellowship of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM).
  • Must be registered with CORU or eligible for membership upon completion of study or in the process of applying for state registration.

 Experience

Desirable but not essential

2 years post graduate experience working in a Clinical Chemistry

Annual Salary: 

Negotiable (Commensurate with experience etc)

 Working Hours: 

The core working hours of attendance will be 35 hours per week. Your flexibility on hours of attendance in response to service needs and managements requirements will be a key element of this role.
