The Nurse Clinician provides a comprehensive range of high-quality professional nursing care to Cancer Care patients. Using the Nursing Process, the emphasis is on direct patient care and related activities, referring to the Lippincott Manual and Mosby Competencies. The Nurse Clinician delivers care under the supervision and guidance of the Charge Nurse and Supervisor. Work is performed on any required shift in the Cancer Care Service, with hours assigned based on operational needs, including on-call and scheduled overtime. Direction is provided by the unit manager.

Daily responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans for patients and their families. The Nurse Clinician also supports the orientation and integration of new hires and nursing staff into the unit. Routine collaboration with physicians involves carrying out physician orders, assisting with medical procedures, and reporting changes in the patient’s condition. Continuous communication with the Charge Nurse ensures updates on patient status and progress in the care plan. The Nurse Clinician works closely with technical and support services for direct patient care, patient flow, and unit maintenance.

Occasionally, the Nurse Clinician engages with the public and community to communicate policy changes, revisions, or the introduction of new work rules.

Education
A minimum of 3 years, either an International Diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree.

Experience
At least 2 years of clinical midwifery experience post-licensure/registration in the country of origin, including a minimum of 1 year in a Labor & Delivery Care unit.

Certifications/Other Requirements

  • Current licensure as a professional registered nurse.
  • Must be a registered midwife in the home country.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Fluency in spoken Arabic is Desirable
