The Role
PE Global are recruiting for a Senior Payroll Specialist for our biotechnology client based in Dublin. This is an 8 -month contract role. Hybrid working options.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate on cross-functional teams to support payroll processing
- Process new hires, changes, and terminations in an accurate and timely manner
- Maintain and review payroll inputs such as pay, deductions, and taxes
- Verify and maintain time and attendance records
- Ensure a high level of customer service is provided on a broad range of employee services related issues (time and attendance, shift premiums, taxation, stock options RSU’s, APSS scheme, relocation taxing issues, and payroll-related accruals)
- Respond to inquiries on payroll related questions from employees and external contacts
- Prepare journal entries and perform various month-end close tasks
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting and tax filing
- Uphold a strong internal controls environment, as required by SOX, by designing and maintaining effective controls and procedures, ensuring compliance, monitoring audit findings, and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Communicate and actively partner with HR, Legal, Finance and other management as needed on payroll related matters.
- Support Payroll manager when required on payroll related projects
Education & Experience
- Minimum 3 – 5 years relevant experience in similar role is essential
- Proven expertise in usage of MS Office Suite and HR systems (MS Excel, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint, HCM, preferred)
- Good knowledge and understanding of applicable local legislation and employment laws and compliance
- Good problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills, good presentation, and facilitation skills
- Motivated self-starter who is detailed, results and process oriented with a focus on effective and efficient improvements
- Organized individual with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high performance standards
- Have a strong appreciation for driving data integrity, process improvement and high-quality service leveraging information and technology
- Superior problem solving and analytical skills and ability to work in a highly visible, deadline-oriented position and environment
- Excellent communication skills – fully fluent written and spoken English essential
- Strong communication and people skills, comfortable working with a cross functional and collaborative team and effectively able to deal with all levels of personnel
