Senior Piping Designer

Role:

PE Global are looking for a Senior Piping Designer to work for a leading Oil & Gas company based in Crawley, West Sussex. This is a permanent position with a hybrid Schedule of 3 days a week on site and 2 days at home

Clients Process Systems group designs, engineers and fabricates specialist oil, gas, water and solids processing equipment packages and facilities. The position holder (based in the UK Crawley office) will act as Design lead on medium, large and complex / critical engineering activities and deliverables. The successful individual will be responsible for leading, and undertaking Piping Layout and detail design deliverables, including 3D model production primarily using software such as AVEVA PDMS, E3D and CADWorx and AutoCAD. You will work closely with the Project Engineering Manager, other engineering disciplines and other project support functions to execute the project in accordance with the as sold requirement and Client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and monitor work of design team personnel, as required, to assure accuracy and conformance with Client and / or Company Specifications, governing codes, good engineering practices, good safety practices, project procedures, and job requirements.
• Adhering to all applicable design information, codes, specifications, practices and procedures, produce 3D models using software as follows:
• CADWorx
• PDMS
• E3D
• AutoCAD
• Autodesk Inventor
• Tekla
• Adhering to all applicable design information, codes, specifications, practices and procedures, produce design deliverables as required, as follows:
• 3D models in applicable software.
• Piping Routing, Piping Arrangements and Layouts.
• Piping Isometrics
• Mechanical Handling drawings.
• Bills of Materials
• Termination / Interface drawings.
• Vessel / Equipment layout and GA drawings.
• Vessel / Equipment setting plans.
• Vessel / Equipment Internals drawings.
• Structural Arrangements and Layouts, including supports
• Foundation Loading drawings.
• Lifting Arrangement drawings.
• Process drawings (e.g. P&IDs, PFDs, MSDs)
• E&I Cable Tray drawings

Required Experience

• Higher National Certificate (HNC) in relevant Engineering discipline, or equivalent with 10+ years of experience in the industry.
• In depth knowledge of Drawing Office Practices and Procedures
• In depth knowledge of Design Standards BS8888, ASME Y14.5, and/or in house
• Design/Draughting procedures.
• Good working knowledge of structural steel typically used for modular design of onshore/offshore process equipment packages.
• Good knowledge of pipe supports.
• In depth knowledge of technical aspects of oil and gas products and processes
• Good knowledge and understanding of fabrication and NDE methods.
• Good knowledge of the setup and administration of the CAD software in use by the client.
• Ability to check, understand, and explain complex P&IDs, vessel, structural, and piping fabrication drawings, isometrics and bills of materials.
• Ability to check and support the other disciplines in the preparation of various engineering deliverables required in Pressure Vessel & Process skid fabrication and assembly work.
