Speciality Doctor – Child and Adolescent Mental Health

Fixed term : An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a full time Speciality Doctor for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services at prestigious hospital in Northern England 

This post would particularly suit a Specialty Trainee looking to take a year out of training to gain broader experience or someone wishing to pursue the CESR route.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will gain experience in the assessment and treatment of patients presenting with a range of illnesses and there will be an opportunity to learn and implement robust risk management plans.

The position requires full GMC registration. Effective communication and empathic skills are essential. Access to a car and a current full drivers’ licence is desirable. Our services are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contributing to the assessment, formulation and development of management plans for young people
2. To work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in providing appropriate care.
3. To allocate time for carrying out home visits, when appropriate.
4. To attend to crisis situations and manage these effectively.
5. Be available to provide appropriate advice to other team members.
6. To attend weekly multi-disciplinary team meetings and referral meetings.
7. To be flexible and accessible in providing appropriate care to the patients.
8. To undertake clinical administration tasks appropriate to patients care.
9. To contribute to service audit, evaluation and development
10. To comply with the trust policies and procedures.
