Specialty Doctor in Oncology

Exciting opportunity for an Oncology Specialty Doctor, on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll provide high-level medical care to oncology patients, including outreach clinic cover. Collaboration with tumour group teams and regular on-call duties required. This 10PA post includes outpatient clinics, ward work, AOS, MDT meetings, and prescribing radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Full GMC registration eligibility necessary. Permanent appointment.

Main Duties of the Job :

• Collaborate with colleagues to actively contribute to the delivery of the Oncology service within the Division. Provide direct patient care, participate in multi-disciplinary teams, and contribute to management strategy development for routine Oncology conditions, including emergencies.
• Ensure a continuous commitment to patient care, even if employed less than full-time, and make appropriate arrangements for leave and off-duty periods.
• Promote high professional standards of clinical care through direct patient care and ongoing professional development.
• Utilize freedom to develop specialist aspects of services in alignment with perceived priorities and available resources.

Person Specification

Qualifications / Registration

Essential

• Full GMC Registration with license to practice
• At least four years of postgraduate training, two of which are in a relevant specialty
• FRCR or Equivalent

Experience

Essential

• Oncology expertise in specialist tumour group
• Fully trained Specialist in chosen field, experience in Clinical Oncology
• Ability to offer opinion on and take independent responsibility for Oncology patients in the specialist tumour group
