Role:

 

PE Global are looking for an Senior Electric Vehicle Engineer to join for a reputable Engine Manufacturer company based in Peterborough

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Organisation’s health and safety policy and safe working practices in accordance with the Safety Management System
  • Adhere to Caterpillar’s Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork & Sustainability
  • To assist in the development and validation of high voltage system integration into prototype machines
  • Produce high and low voltage harnesses to an engineering schematic
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot a range of faults on both high voltage and machine CANbus systems
  • Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Work from engineering drawings (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic)
  • Travel to various off-site test and development facilities both CAT owned and 3rd Party (some overseas).

 

 

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum (ideally electrical/electronic) or equivalent experience
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers
  • Demonstrable high level of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical/electronic aptitude with a good working knowledge of machine sub systems
  • Have a fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities, with the ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances
  • Prepared to undertake further required training/learning to aid in personal development through the Electrification programme
  • The ability to analyse and understand complex electrical architectures
  • Previous experience in use of Vector CANape
  • Deep technical understanding of High Voltage Systems
  • Proven experience of leading EV Projects
  • Process knowledge and experience in safety management systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Industry experience in off highway (preferable) or on highway vehicles
