PE Global is currently recruiting for a Supervisor Project Engineer for a leading multi-national oil & gas company based in The UAE.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of capital projects, ensuring they are completed within the defined scope, schedule, and budget.
- Manage and guide the team under the unit, providing direction to ensure the successful completion of each project.
- Apply your expertise in Refining and Petrochemical projects, ensuring the team takes appropriate actions at all stages of project execution.
- Oversee the technical and project management aspects of design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and project closeout.
- Lead project development activities including engineering studies, licensor selection, technical bid reviews, preliminary and detailed design, materials procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, handover, commissioning, startup, and closeout.
- Ensure the timely resolution of issues that arise in all phases of project development and guarantee the implementation of safety measures during execution.
- Implement company initiatives across projects and business processes within the organization.
- Be fully familiar with company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure project alignment with these objectives.
- Plan for and anticipate changes in project scope, timing, or costs; prepare necessary documentation and secure management approvals.
- Negotiate agreements and change orders with design and execution contractors.
- Provide guidance on the application of company standards, ensuring that deviations from standards are minimized.
- Contribute to weekly and monthly reports on project status, including costs and schedules, and attend meetings such as progress updates, stakeholder discussions, design reviews, and value improvement sessions.
- Evaluate the project schedule, monitor progress, and address underperformance by contractors.
- Interpret contract documents, including appendices, drawings, and specifications, and support the project manager or company representative in ensuring timely project completion.
- Uphold high standards of engineering ethics and professional conduct.
Education/Experience
- You must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized and accredited program. An advanced degree is preferred.
- You should have at least 15 years of experience in project management, specifically executing capital projects in the Refining and Petrochemical industries, with recognition as an expert in this field. This should include at least 7 years of experience as a Supervisor Project Engineer or Project Manager, overseeing design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and operations for projects valued between $500MM and $1 billion.
- Strong experience in Engineering Design and Construction phases, with a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles in accordance with applicable international codes, standards, and specifications.
- Ability to work in diverse environments with multinational teams, and be prepared to mobilize to different locations, including remote areas, both domestically and internationally, as needed.
