We are currently seeking a Staff Grade Speech & Language Therapist to join the Speech & Language Therapy Team delivering rehabilitation services to older persons at St Mary’s Hospital, Phoenix Park. This role is delivered in partnership with the HSE and offers the opportunity to work within a supportive, well-established multidisciplinary environment.

The service consists of 101 beds across rehabilitation wards and community nursing units. The successful candidate will join a strong SLT team including an on-site SLT Manager, Clinical Specialist SLT, Senior SLTs, and Staff Grade colleagues, with regular supervision, frequent team meetings, and a strong focus on continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Speech & Language Therapy services to rehabilitation wards and Phoenix Park Community Nursing Units.

  • Assess, diagnose, and deliver intervention for communication and eating, drinking and swallowing (EDS) difficulties.

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with patients and families.

  • Provide training and support to healthcare colleagues across the hospital campus as required.

  • Support decision-making and capacity assessments for patients with communication difficulties.

  • Maintain high professional standards in record-keeping and clinical documentation in line with service and CORU requirements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.

  • CORU registration (essential).

  • Eligible to work in Ireland.

  • Professional, flexible, and patient-centred approach to practice.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
