PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for a General Manager to join our client based in Waterford. This is a permanent position and the role is paying an excellent remuneration package.

Position Overview: The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations while driving strategic growth pertaining to the 4 strategic goals of the company and ensuring the company meets its financial and operational goals. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong business acumen, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the e-commerce fulfillment industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning & Execution:
    • Contribute to development and implementation of strategic initiatives to expand the client’s market share in the European e-commerce fulfillment sector.
    • Identify growth opportunities, including new markets, services, and technological innovations.
    • Set performance goals and metrics for the company and ensure they are met or exceeded.
  2. Operational Management:
    • Oversee daily operations across all departments, ensuring processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
    • Manage and optimise the use of resources, including facilities, technology, and personnel.
    • Ensure seamless integration of IT systems with e-commerce platforms to support the fulfillment process.
  3. Financial Oversight:
    • Manage the company’s budget, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
    • Monitor financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
    • Report on financial performance to stakeholders, including the executive team and board of directors.
  4. Leadership & Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure effective communication across all levels of the organisation.
    • Promote a positive work environment that values employee engagement, development, and well-being.
  5. Client & Stakeholder Relations:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
    • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders.
    • Represent the client at industry events, conferences, and in the media.

 

Compliance & Risk Management:

    • Ensure that all operations comply with local and international laws and regulations.
    • Identify potential risks to the business and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Promote sustainable practices and ensure the company’s operations align with its commitment to environmental responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a senior management role within the logistics, fulfillment, or e-commerce sector.
  • Proven track record of leading a company or division to achieve strategic goals and financial targets.
  • Strong understanding of the European e-commerce and logistics landscape.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills and ability to drive organisational change and behaviour
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in financial management and experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
