Locum Consultant Urology

We’re excited to offer 2 Locum Consultant Urologist positions. Our Urology service is undergoing significant redevelopment, including plans for a modern Urology Investigation Unit (UIU) and a new High Volume Surgical Hub (HVSH) on the site in 2024.

We’re seeking motivated individuals to join our dynamic team, where excellent communication and teamwork are vital.

While these positions are initially fixed-term, there will be opportunities for further workforce development in 2024. 

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Basic Medical Degree
• Postgraduate qualification or appropriate specialist qualification
• Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
• Must be on the GMC specialist register or be within six months of CCT accreditation at time of interview
• FRCS (Urol) Appropriate progression of career to date

Desirable

• Higher Degree for example MD, MS, PhD, FEBU

Clinical Experience

Essential

• Relevant post registration experience
• Sub-Specialty experience
• Experience in other related sub-specialties
• Appropriate level of clinical knowledge
• Knowledge and use of evidence-based practice

Desirable

• Experience at Consultant Level
• IT Skills
• Breadth of experience in and outside specialty

Clinical Audit

Essential

• Competent with all core Urological procedures
• Understanding of clinical risk management
• An ability to communicate well with patients and staff
