PE Global are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager for a leading Renewable Energy semi state company involved with infrastructure projects across Ireland.

 

The Renewable Energy Business Unit currently has an opening on a permanent basis for a RES Maintenance Manager. The role will be based in Offaly and will report to the RES Asset Manager. The wind, solar and battery sites are maintained by small core teams, each managed by RES manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting challenging maintenance, engineering, commercial, safety, environmental, quality and personal development targets.

 

The Role:

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Assist RES manager with operation of renewable energy projects including the role of operation control. Scope, plan and coordinate maintenance of substations and wind turbines. Procurement of appropriate spare parts and services to enable long term asset availability, in line with budget and operation of a maintenance management system;
  • Lead their team and give direction to Maintenance Technicians and liaise with other Plant teams to achieve objectives. Scope, plan and coordinate substation maintenance in conjunction with Eirgrid scheduled outages;
  • Ensure maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the equipment. Assist with turbine maintenance and quality inspections;
  • Prepare monthly reports for all renewable energy projects;
  • Play a key role in the implementation of the Plant business Management Systems. Participate in the broader management of the Plant and the development of Human Resources;
  • Maintain interfaces with the owners, other interested parties, legal authorities, suppliers and contractors. Liaise with the Electricity supply authority on issues such as maintenance outages and reliability of supply. Proactively participate in the training and management of wind farm technicians;
  • Develop safety documentation, permit to work and procedures for the safe operation of wind farms Ensure the Wind Turbine Safety rules are used and kept up to date for all maintenance activities. Promote a safe pace and system of work. Understanding of Health and safety legislation in relation to operation of high voltage substations ensuring safety of employees and contractors;
  • Lead and promote a culture of Health and safety and ensure compliance with safe systems of work for employees and contractors. All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises;
  • Lead and Performance Manage your direct report(s). Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s objectives;

 

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes:

  • Level 6 Engineering Qualification, Senior Authorised person for High Voltage switching, Telemess and Wind Turbine safety rules training.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience;
  • Electrical Apprenticeship and Wind Turbine Authorised Technician;
