We are seeking a motivated middle-grade doctor to join our expanding paediatric team. This role covers all aspects of acute inpatient care for children, including attending high-risk deliveries, emergency assessments, and S47 medicals with consultant supervision. There are opportunities to attend outpatient clinics, participate in audit/research, and develop personal areas of interest.

The rota offers a mix of standard days, long days, and nights, with consultant support through a “hot week” system and robust out-of-hours coverage. We also provide pathways for training progression, including “run-through” training.

Person Specification

Professional Qualifications

Essential

• Registration with GMC
• MB or equivalent medical degree
• MRCPCH 

Training and Experience

Essential

• Paediatrics experience, including six months neonatal experience in a regional or sub-regional unit
• Experience in a wide range of paediatric emergencies
• Paediatric outpatient management experience
• Child Protection Training and experience
• Up-to-date PALS/APLS and NLS training or acceptance on course with dates

Desirable

• Sub-speciality training
• Some experience of Community Child Health
• Previous experience of working on a middle grade rota

Clinical Governance and Audit

Essential

• Understanding and participation in clinical governance activities
• Experience of carrying out Audit projects
• Familiarity with the use of clinical guidelines

Desirable

• Demonstration of completion of audit cycle
• Involvement in revising or producing guidelines

Professional Development and Education

Essential

• Involvement in Postgraduate education
• Up-to-date knowledge of paediatric literature
