PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for Quantity Surveyors at all levels to join the commercial team delivering a major hyperscale data centre development in Finland.
Successful candidates will take responsibility for the management of all commercial aspects of the project or allocated work packages, including cost control, procurement, subcontractor management, and reporting. You will be a key member of the project delivery team and play a vital role in cost planning and value engineering throughout the construction lifecycle. This role will work on a 3 week rotational roster.
About You
You will have a proven track record managing multiple subcontract packages and working collaboratively with clients, design teams, and delivery partners to achieve commercial success.
This role suits someone who takes ownership of outcomes, is commercially astute, solution-oriented, and values strong and transparent communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement of subcontract packages and key project scopes in partnership with the senior commercial and project teams
- Preparation of quantified work packages, ITTs and budget estimates from technical documentation
- Evaluation and reporting on tender submissions
- Preparation and agreement of subcontract documentation
- Commercial management of subcontract packages from award through to final account
- Management of valuations, variations, claims and financial reporting
- Continuous monitoring of project costs and financial entitlement
- Engagement with clients, subcontractors, consultants and internal stakeholders
- Submission of contractually compliant documentation
- Preparation and agreement of external valuations
- Negotiation and settlement of variations, omissions and final accounts
- Cash flow forecasting and cost/value reconciliations
- Proactive dispute avoidance and resolution
- Mentoring and development of junior commercial staff, where applicable
Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar
- Typically 5+ years’ experience (depending on level)
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and commercial processes
- Familiarity with industry-standard methods of measurement
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent commercial awareness and analytical abilities
- Advanced budgeting and financial control skills
- Experience with CostX, Buildsoft, or similar software advantageous
- Data centre experience preferable but not essential
