PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Clinical Claims Manager on behalf of a leading public sector organisation based in Dublin. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity.

Our client is a highly regarded public sector body responsible for providing a wide range of financial, asset and liability management services to Government and State authorities.

Operating across several key business units, the organisation plays a central role in managing legal claims, litigation risk and indemnity matters on behalf of the State, including healthcare-related claims under the Clinical Indemnity Scheme.

The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Claims Manager to join a specialist claims team managing clinical negligence claims on behalf of public healthcare bodies and State authorities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing a portfolio of clinical claims from investigation through to resolution
  • Liaising closely with hospitals, healthcare providers, solicitors, barristers and medical experts
  • Supporting litigation strategy and claims resolution processes
  • Providing medico-legal guidance and claims management support to healthcare organisations

This role will suit a healthcare litigation or medical negligence professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has strong stakeholder management, analytical and decision-making skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of clinical negligence claims under the Clinical Indemnity Scheme
  • Investigate and evaluate claims, assessing liability, legal exposure and appropriate resolution strategies
  • Support the development and implementation of case strategies in conjunction with senior colleagues
  • Liaise with external solicitors, barristers, medical experts and other third parties regarding claim management and litigation strategy
  • Attend meetings with healthcare providers, hospitals and State authorities as required
  • Ensure claims are progressed and processed in a timely and efficient manner with accurate documentation maintained throughout
  • Provide guidance and support to healthcare authorities and hospitals in relation to coronial inquests and medico-legal matters
  • Act as a key point of contact for assigned healthcare organisations, providing advice and guidance on matters relating to the Clinical Indemnity Scheme
  • Assist with the management of legal costs and related claims activity
  • Work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to support effective claims resolution and risk management

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing medical defence litigation or healthcare-related claims
  • Third-level qualification and/or relevant professional qualification
  • Experience within medical negligence, healthcare litigation, professional indemnity or clinical claims management environments
  • Strong understanding of litigation processes and claims management procedures
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple complex claims and prioritise workload effectively
  • Experience working collaboratively with legal teams, healthcare professionals and external stakeholders
  • Strong IT skills with experience using case management or document management systems
  • High level of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail
