PE Global are delighted to be working with a very good client of ours who is a leading national transport infrastructure organisation responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable rail services across Ireland. They are currently seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial and Contracts team.
The successful candidate will support the management of commercial and contractual aspects of infrastructure projects at both pre- and post-contract stages, contributing to the delivery of key capital and maintenance programmes nationwide.
This is a dynamic role suited to a motivated and ambitious individual who can work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, this is a full time permanent position.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Chartered status with MSCSI and/or MRICS
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong communication, financial, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across varied projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with software such as SharePoint, AutoCAD, Cubit/CostX is desirable
- Capable of working on own initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Full, clean Irish driving license
Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the lead Quantity Surveyor within the Infrastructure Division’s Commercial & Contracts team
- Liaise with internal engineering teams across track and facilities disciplines
- Undertake site visits to collect data, conduct inspections, and measure works
- Prepare Bills of Quantities and Pricing Documents in line with standard methods of measurement (e.g., CESSM4, ARM5)
- Collaborate with procurement to review and update tender documentation including Forms of Tender and Instructions to Tenderers
- Conduct detailed commercial tender assessments and support tender adjudication
- Administer public sector contracts, particularly under the Public Works suite; familiarity with NEC and FIDIC is advantageous
- Assess contractor payment applications and prepare interim and final payment certificates
- Review, evaluate, and negotiate contractor variations and claims
- Attend project meetings and contribute to cost control discussions on-site
- Finalise contractor accounts in line with contract terms and procedures
