PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a leading energy infrastructure facility based in Edenderry.
The Role
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to become part of a high-performing maintenance team within a large-scale power generation plant. The facility operates with small, focused maintenance teams, working under the leadership of a Maintenance Engineer.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Engineer and will be responsible for executing a range of mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring optimal plant performance while adhering to strict safety, environmental, quality, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the mechanical maintenance function to maximise plant availability, reliability, and efficiency while maintaining safe systems of work.
- Ensure effective use of spare parts in line with budgetary controls and maintain accurate records within the Maintenance Management System.
- Deliver maintenance plans and team objectives safely, efficiently, and within environmental compliance limits.
- Assist the Maintenance Engineer with planning activities and broader maintenance functions as required.
- Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting across plant equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and support operational activities where necessary.
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving capabilities and take initiative in resolving maintenance issues.
- Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of the Plant Business Management System, including safety procedures and permit systems.
- Execute preventative maintenance and assigned tasks, ensuring accurate reporting through the Maintenance Management System.
- Maintain all required quality and compliance documentation.
- Promptly report any issues that may impact plant performance or safety.
- Comply fully with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Welfare regulations.
- Actively participate in performance management processes to support both individual and team objectives.
Requirements
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g. HND, Higher Certificate, or equivalent experience in mechanical maintenance).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a large-scale industrial, energy, or infrastructure environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical maintenance principles within a process or power generation setting.
- Experience in fault finding, maintenance planning, and plant operations is advantageous.
- Knowledge of project management principles; formal certification (e.g. PMP) or postgraduate qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with the Irish energy or infrastructure sector is an advantage.
- Excellent technical reporting, communication, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with maintenance systems and MS Project is beneficial.
