PE Global Healthcare is currrently working with a prestigious healthcare hospital in Saudi who is looking to hire Consultant – General Surgery 

Consultant / Specialist – General Surgery

Basic Function

Provide high-standard, cost-effective attending and consulting general surgical care to eligible patients, in accordance with approved scope of practice and clinical privileges.

Practice within the area of expertise and competence approved by the hospital Credentialing and Privileging Authority.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in clinical and educational rounds, including morning reports, sign-out rounds, and multidisciplinary team meetings.

  • Participate in departmental Quality and Safety activities, including audits, reviews, and presentations.

  • Report patient adverse events to the appropriate department or service.

  • Attend and contribute to departmental and service business meetings.

  • Prepare and provide patient reports in accordance with hospital policies.

  • Ensure accurate, legible, and timely documentation in patient medical records.

  • Maintain complete patient case records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.

  • Participate in medical records audits as required.

Principal Contacts

  • Reports to the Division/Unit Head and Department Chair, Department of Surgery.

  • Maintains daily contact with patients.

  • Consults with other specialists regarding complex surgical cases.

  • Works closely with surgical services, nursing staff, and physicians to exchange information and resolve clinical issues.

  • May provide consultation and follow-up advice to external medical facilities when required.

Principal Duties

Inpatient Duties

  • Admit patients through the Emergency Department, outpatient clinics, or via transfers from other hospitals.

  • Conduct daily ward rounds on assigned patients.

  • Promote teamwork and collaboration among healthcare professionals.

  • Ensure inpatient coverage during weekends and holidays according to on-call schedules.

Outpatient Duties

  • Attend assigned outpatient surgical and procedural clinics in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with outpatient nursing and allied health teams to optimize patient care.

  • Refer patients to other specialties as clinically indicated.

Operating Room Duties

  • Ensure patients are adequately prepared for surgical procedures.

  • Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and patient safety in the operating room.

  • Dictate operative notes accurately and in a timely manner.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of training in a recognized General Surgery training program. ( Only CCT ) – No CESR pathway 

Certifications and Other Requirements

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and clinical skills relevant to general surgery practice.

  • Fulfill continuous medical education (CME) requirements as mandated by hospital and licensing authorities.
