Our client, a reputable Engineering company based in Cork, is looking to recruit a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. As part of the Finance team, the ideal candidate will also get the opportunity to work directly with an established Finance Manager.

The Role:

• Prepare and forecast monthly Group P&L statements, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Manage month-end balance sheet reconciliations and reporting, maintaining strong financial controls and compliance.
• Act as a strategic business partner to Commercial, Operations, and Project teams to drive performance and support decision-making.
• Supported the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecasts by delivering robust financial analysis and insights.
• Oversee statutory audits and corporate tax filings, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements.
• Manage local tax compliance and planning, optimizing tax strategies and minimizing fiscal exposure.
• Identify and implemented process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in financial operations.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial models to support better performance tracking and metric analysis.
• Assisted in various ad-hoc financial projects, providing flexible support across departments as needed.

Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant – ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA
• At least 2 years PQE in a similar environment
• Strong analytical abilities with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and excellent presentation skills.
• Well-versed in financial reporting systems and processes; experience with SAP is a strong advantage.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Highly motivated and career-driven, with a strong desire to grow within a dynamic and expanding organization.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
