This compelling locum opportunity has emerged to cover parental leave and bolster our current activities. It’s available on a full-time basis (10 PA), with flexibility for negotiation upon request.

The Anaesthesia, Pain, and Intensive Care department is comprised of sixty-one consultant anaesthetists and sixty trainees, specialty doctors, MTIs, and Trust registrars. We offer Anaesthetic & Pain services across sites.  As a large Trust encompassing all major surgical specialties and a Regional Burns Centre, we foster sub-specialty interests and strongly support regional anaesthesia. Additionally, we’re set to open a new Day-case Surgical Hub, expanding opportunities for Pain services.

Applicants should hold a CCT or be within six months of receiving one at the time of the advisory appointments committee.

Main duties include:

  • Managing elective theatre lists for various surgical specialties like general surgery, bariatrics, urology, gynaecology, orthopedics, plastic & burns surgery, ENT, and maxillofacial.
  • Providing anaesthetic services across the hospital for Adult and Paediatric Emergencies.
  • Undertaking urgent and emergency care duties while adhering to working time regulations.
  • Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs) as per Trust Framework, with a minimum of 1.5 SPAs in a 10 PA timetable.
