PE Global are seeking a Maintenance Fitter to work within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will support operations across the business unit. This is very much a hands-on /high impact role. The Maintenance Fitter will be vital for ensuring that plant and machinery are maintained to optimal performance and safety standards. Days only role.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Maintenance & Repairs – Conduct preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance.
– Diagnose faults and quickly respond to equipment breakdowns.
– Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. – Maintain motors, gearboxes, chain drives,. Fabrication
– Perform welding and fabrication tasks where required. Operational Support & Process Improvement – Support plant upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
– Maintain automated equipment (e.g., conveyors and wrapping machines).
– Recommend system/process modifications to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
Compliance & Documentation – Work in accordance with GMP, cGMP, and all safety protocols.
– Complete all CMMS entries (e.g., SAP) accurately and on time.
– Participate in and support LOTO (Lock Out, Tag Out) procedures.
– Document spare part usage to maintain effective stock levels.
– Calibrate and maintain pneumatic systems. Qualifications & Experience – Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship (MAMF) or equivalent qualification.
– 2–5+ years of post-apprenticeship experience in industrial or manufacturing settings.
– Experience in machine shop operations is an advantage.
– Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
– Proficient with SAP or other CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office tools. – Solid understanding of GMP/cGMP, LOTO, and plant safety practices.
– Comfortable working indoors/outdoors in fast-paced environments.
– Day shift Monday to Friday and overtime may be required based on operational needs. Personal Attributes
