PE Global is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer for a leading multinational consumer goods and personal care corporation client based in Barrow-in-Furness.

This is an initial 3 months contract position with possible extension based on site. Hourly rate is £25.64 PAYE.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities

• Perform a leadership role for all the Mechanical resources.
• Responsible for owning all process mechanical initiatives and tasks.
• Capable of leading and motivating a team by setting objectives and driving performance management.
• Train, develop and up skill personnel by means of on-the-job as well as technical and generic training.
• Manage Reliability Projects.
• Manages contracts and contractor control procedures and rules for the department.
• Requires understanding of Environmental, legal and statutory requirements.
• Ensure assets are maintained in a “Safe to operate” condition at all times while promoting all aspects of safe working practices to meet all safety and housekeeping objectives of the plant.
• Contribute to the development of sound safety programmes and maintenance of good working conditions, adherence to organization and legal safety rules and regulations.
• Continually comply with all regulatory & control requirements, internal controls, while at all-times driving accountability and compliance on the asset.
• Manage the inspection and replacement of all parts in accordance with the relevant Planned Maintenance schedules.
• Provide technical information to the maintenance teams detailing work requests for planned and reactive maintenance.

Education/Experience

• Experience working in an FMCG environment
• Mechanical Engineering problem solving experience
• Professional qualification as Mechanical Engineer
• Team management experience
