Payroll Officer (Grade V) – Healthcare Sector

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance & Payroll team. This is a key role with full responsibility for accurate, compliant, end-to-end payroll processing across a large, diverse workforce.

You will work closely with the Payroll Manager and Finance team in a professional, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end processing of fortnightly and monthly payrolls

  • Processing timesheets, starters, leavers and payroll adjustments

  • Managing tax, pension and superannuation records

  • Processing illness, maternity, paternity and social welfare payments

  • Payroll reconciliations, reporting and audit support

  • Responding to staff payroll queries professionally and efficiently

  • Supporting month-end processes and payroll-related projects

  • Ensuring strong payroll controls and compliance at all times

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • IPASS qualification (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience

  • Strong knowledge of public-sector payroll & pensions

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Experience using Megapay

  • Highly organised, accurate, and able to work independently

Desirable:

  • Public sector or healthcare payroll experience

  • Payroll systems upgrades or project experience

  • Payroll bureau background
