PE Global are delighted to be working with a very good client of ours who are a leading Irish and UK Timber Processor based in Fermoy and Longford and we are now actively seeking a Maintenance Stores/ Purchasing Coordinator for their facility in Fermoy, Co. Cork. This position has been created due to ongoing site expansion and investment in operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure mechanical, electrical, and consumable goods to support maintenance and production operations.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to negotiate pricing and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Create and manage purchase orders using the company’s procurement and maintenance software system (e.g., PEMAC).
- Liaise closely with the maintenance and production teams to anticipate and fulfil material and part requirements.
- Monitor and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders; resolve any discrepancies or delivery issues.
- Maintain accurate records and a well-organized stores inventory system.
- Conduct stock checks and cycle counts through the digital inventory system.
- Manage purchasing activities within defined budgets, escalating any variances where necessary.
- Ensure adherence to health & safety procedures within the stores and procurement functions.
- Perform general housekeeping and upkeep of the stores area.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a purchasing or stores coordination role within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with PEMAC or other CMMS/inventory systems (preferred but not essential).
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly in order tracking and inventory accuracy.
- Experience working to budgets and dealing with external suppliers.
