PE Global is currently recruiting for a Software Engineer – C, C++ on behalf of our cloud data service client in Cork City. This is a permanent role with the option to be worked fully remotely. This is an award-winning innovative company constantly evolving their market-leading technology platform developed 100% in-house and used by some of the world largest organisations across multiple sectors and 100+ countries.

Duties of the role

  • Solid programming skill in C
  • Experience with C++ is a plus
  • Strong understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and standard programming practices is a must
  • Debugging skills on FW/SW issues is a must
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must
  • Work collaboratively within and outside the team of other engineers and Sr leaders
  • Ability to estimate work completion for project planning and able to lead the team of junior engineers
  • Ability to drive design and implementation of project features
  • Requires limited supervision and direction, as this individual can operate, drive results
  • Successfully convey information to stakeholders at many levels related to the position
  • Participate as a proactive contributor and subject matter expert
  • Experience with linux network (firewalls, VLANs, ssh) is a plus
  • Experience with security (certificates, key authentication) is a plus
  • In-depth understanding of Linux programming, kernel, driver, U-boot, system calls, shared libraries makefiles is a plus
  • Experience with gdb debugging and IPC programming is a plus
  • Experience developing code to read sensors (temperature, voltage, power, fans, etc) is a plus
  • Experience with IPMI, KCS, I2C, SMBUS, PMBUS, SPI, UART, Flash technologies (eMMC, SPI), LDAP, Redfish, REST API is a plus
  • Experience with AMI BMC is a plus


Education & Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is required
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a master’s degree; or equivalent experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to have successfully completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks
  • Proven record of meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
