The Australian Government has introduced an Expedited Specialist Pathway to address critical shortages in the healthcare workforce, particularly in radiology. This initiative allows internationally trained medical specialists from countries with healthcare systems comparable to Australia’s to fast-track their registration process.  Eligible specialists from Ireland and the UK can now bypass individual assessments by specialist colleges.  This streamlined process aims to reduce regulatory barriers and expedite the integration of qualified international specialists into Australia’s healthcare system.
