My client, a Reputable and Major Irish Owned Company, is looking to recruit an Accountant for their head office in Waterford. This is a permanent role that offers a competitive salary, significant career progression and a hybrid working opportunity.
The Role:
- Prepare precise, timely consolidated management accounts for internal reporting.
- Collaborate with subsidiary and regional finance teams to guarantee data accuracy and prompt submissions.
- Assist in producing annual consolidated financial statements.
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure a seamless year-end audit process.
- Support external auditors during interim and year-end audits by delivering required documentation, explanations, and insights.
- Adhere to and enforce internal controls and group accounting policies
- Help design and implement sustainability/ESG reporting frameworks.
- Collect and validate non-financial ESG data from across the organization
- Support group-level tax reporting tasks including corporate tax, VAT, and transfer pricing documentation.
- Coordinate tax filings with external advisors and local teams
- Drive finance-related projects such as process improvements and system rollouts.
- Provide acquisition accounting assistance for future M&A activities.
- Lead ad hoc financial initiatives, offering analysis and insights to inform decision‑making
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant – ACCA,ACA,CPA or CIMA
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling engaging and effective interaction with colleagues at all levels across the organization.
- Collaborative mindset with demonstrated ability to work within teams and to mentor and develop fellow team members.
- Strong technical acumen, capable of interpreting accounting standards and applying them to real-world situations.
- Deep understanding of internal control environments and IT systems, with a pro‑active, solution-oriented approach.
- Highly self-motivated and detail-focused, able to bring structure, logical reasoning, and consistency to problem-solving tasks.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines within fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Proactive issue management: identifies challenges early and drives appropriate corrective action.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and broad competency working with IT systems.
- Experience with ERP platforms and Business Intelligence tools (such as QlikView), desirable but not essential
