Job Description
- Overseeing USGAAP payroll accounting for EMEA region.
- Delivering accurate and timely financial information from the point of transaction through to financial close and periodic external reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
- Supporting all payroll accounting processes through effective, efficient and regulatory (SOX) compliant finance processes and in accordance with US GAAP
Responsibilities include:
Responsible for bank file processing for payroll payments:
- Liaise with Payroll CoE’s to ensure payroll files together with bank files and supporting documentation is received in a timely manner.
- Upload bank files and ensure these are approved on a timely basis as applicable.
- Coordinate payment of local payroll taxes and other payroll related payments where required.
- Coordinate intercompany payroll related cross-charges
- Ensure all payments are processed by deadline dates
- Process offline payments via cashpro online for various tax payments, urgent payments, rejections, payroll payments.
- Provide backup and support for other markets
Process Payroll entries and prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Review and process General Ledger entries for payroll bookings including accruals.
- Inform business unit finance when payroll is posted and provide analysis on variances and any other queries
- Ensure sales commissions are accrued for all markets and supporting documentation is in place.
- Reconciliation of all payroll related accounts, ensure supporting documentation is in place and all review queries are resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide backup & support for payroll accounting for other markets.
- Maintain payroll accounting manuals for specific markets, checklists and procedures
VAT/Vies/Intrastat reporting requirements
- Prepare and submit all VAT related returns for specific entities in the EAM Region.
- Arrange payments of VAT liabilities in a timely manner & reconciliation of VAT accounts.
- Complete VAT control checklists on a monthly/quarterly basis as appropriate
Provide assistance to internal and external auditors
- Provide payroll related information to our internal and external auditors when required.
- Coordinate with payroll CoE to obtain information as required.
- Summarise all audit queries and responses provided and identify areas for improvement.
- Support payroll CoE in relation to accounting aspects of external payroll audits
Responsible for delivery of the general accounting processes and activities of the Shared Service organization:
- Journal entry preparation, review and approval
- Facilitate and perform period close activities as required
Ensuring the integrity of internal financial controls
- Ensure that all corporate internal policies are followed.
- Roll out changes in payroll accounting in line with policies.
- Prepare information for internal control review
- Manage all accesses to payroll mailboxes & Payroll network drive in conjunction with manager.
Projects & Other Responsibilities:
- Participate and assist in Shared Services Centre & worldwide projects or responsibilities as required
Education & Experience
- Preferred: Qualified Accountant – CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
- Part-Qualified Accountants will also be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years’ accounting experience within a medium-sized international company.
- Second language desirable but not essential.
- SAP (or other ERP systems) experience desirable.
- Process excellence experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge.
