Health & Safety Manager – Dublin
Overview
A leading organisation in Dublin is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and implement best-in-class safety practices across its operations, with a particular focus on utilities and infrastructure projects.
This is a key role responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, while promoting a strong safety culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Leadership
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company’s Health & Safety management systems
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all sites and operational teams
- Provide expert advice and guidance to management and project teams on all HSE matters
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure full compliance with Irish health and safety legislation and industry standards
- Maintain and update safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure readiness for inspections and audits
Utilities & Project Oversight
- Oversee health and safety practices across utilities and infrastructure projects
- Ensure safe systems of work are in place for high-risk activities (e.g., excavation, confined spaces, live services)
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards
Risk Management
- Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and implementation of control measures
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Maintain accurate records and reporting of safety performance metrics
Training & Development
- Develop and deliver safety training programs and toolbox talks
- Ensure all employees and contractors are competent and compliant with safety requirements
- Support ongoing professional development in health and safety practices
Requirements
Essential
- Level 8 qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety role
- Proven experience working within utilities, infrastructure, or engineering environments
- Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements
- Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
