PE Global is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Controls Engineer for a leading multi-national manufacturer of construction and mining equipment client based in Desford.
This is an initial 18 months contract position.
Afternoon shift – Mon-Wed 16:30 – 02:30, Thursday 16:30-02:00
Pay Rate £24.22ph PAYE or £33.17ph Umbrella

Duties of the role/Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for automation and robotics, and bring to implementation.
- Affectively use Siemens PLC/HMI software to aid maintenance teams to diagnoses production issues.
- Affectively use Siemens/ Mitsubishi PLC software to uplift and standardise legacy system assets.
- Proactively identify business opportunities, assess overall impact and justify to senior stakeholders for capital investment.
- Project management – Full scope, development, budgets, resources and management of NPI or Improvement projects (Technology/Efficiency/Quality) from initiation to production and program completion.
- Facilitate the development of manufacturing process solutions work with functional teams, using a range of tool e.g. process flows, PFMEA’s, control plans. Promote lean and quality as a focus within the business.
- Monitor and report on project health, including issue management to ensure People, Quality, Velocity and Cost targets are achieved.
- Developing equipment specifications and installation requirements and ensuring that the equipment is safe and meets the needs of manufacturing.
Education/Experience
- Extensive experience in Manufacturing Processes, Project Management, Manufacturing Safety, Lean Manufacturing
- Good understanding of building and construction equipment Assembly, Test or Finish processes and production
- Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter would be advantageous.
- Experience of leading quality concern resolution with tools such as 8D, 5why, fishbone diagrams and other appropriate quality tools
- 6 Sigma project leadership experience.
- Degree or equivalent experience desired
