PE Global Healthcare are delighted to assist their client, a leading home care provider in Co. Meath, to recruit for a community paediatric nurse. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance and engage your Nursing skills & join our Nurse-led Home Support Nursing team in Co. Meath.

Job Title: Paediatric Nurse – Home Support

Job Location: Co.Meath (Dunshaughlin area)

Hours: Full-time and night nursing shifts available (Day Shifts & Night Shifts)

This package consists of nursing (RCN/RGN/RNID) for 7 x 8 hour nights and 5 x 8 hour days (Monday to Saturday), total of 96 hours per week. This can be divided between 2 / 3 nurses

Role of Registered General Nurse:

To provide safe, quality, person-centred care to a Child within their home environment. The successful candidate will be part of a Nurse-led care team providing clinical care in a home setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute paediatric care and be able to work flexible hours, including day and night shifts. 

Nurses must demonstrate that they have the desired competencies to care for this child. The nursing needs for this child are as follows:

1. Competent in all tracheostomy care, changing of ties, suctioning and changing tracheostomy tube in an emergency situation.
2. Monitoring skin integrity around tracheostomy stoma and observing for any signs of skin breakdown.
3. Management and administration of nebs and suctioning via tracheostomy tube
4. Monitoring for signs and symptoms of respiratory distress
5. Medication Management

Responsibilities include…

• Gastrostomy tube feeds via feeding pump
• Competent in all tracheostomy care, changing of ties, suctioning and changing tube in an emergency situation
• Management and administration of nebs and suctioning
• Monitoring for signs and symptoms of respiratory distress
• Pressure area care
• Medication Management
• Seizure management
• Manage enteral feeding and medication
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Manage seizures
• Provide play and family support
• Provide excellent evidence-based nursing care, implementing all aspects of care plans based on the needs identified.
• Prioritise the needs and comfort of the client.
• Communicate effectively with the client, family, clinical team, and MDT, reporting on the client’s clinical needs as required.
• Maintain accurate and professional clinical notes

Qualifications & Experience

• Current registration on the live register of NMBI
• RGN/RCN trained
• Paediatric nursing experience is necessary
• Previous experience in home care is an advantage, full training and support provided

Benefits:

• Monday – Saturday €30 per hour (night €35 per hour)
• Sunday €45 per hour (night  €50 per hour)
• Bank Holidays €60 per hour ( night €70 per hour)
