About the Role

Senior Psychologist to join their Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT).

This role focuses on leading the delivery of Assessments of Need (AON) under the Disability Act 2005, supporting children aged 0–18 years with complex needs across the South Kildare and West Wicklow area. The successful candidate will work as part of an established, collaborative, and well-supported interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Psychologist will plan and coordinate assessment schedules, apply advanced clinical reasoning, and work closely with families, carers, and multidisciplinary colleagues throughout the assessment and feedback process. Responsibilities also include maintaining compliance with professional and legislative standards, contributing to service planning and development, documenting assessments in line with PSI standards, and engaging in regular supervision and professional development.

Requirements

  • Recognised Honours Degree in Psychology (QQI Level 8 or equivalent)

  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology, accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or validated by the Department of Health

  • Minimum 5 years’ post-graduate experience, including at least 2 years post-qualification

  • Demonstrated experience working with children with intellectual disabilities

  • Experience in multi-disciplinary assessments and diagnostic feedback

  • Familiarity with tools such as ADOS, ADI-R, Griffiths, or Stanford-Binet (advantageous)

  • Neuro-affirmative report writing approach

  • Full clean driving licence and access to own transport

  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland (no sponsorship available)
