Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join a multidisciplinary Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties and neurodevelopmental presentations, including ADHD, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties and autism spectrum disorder.

The successful candidate will provide specialist assessment and intervention while contributing to service development and supporting junior staff within the team. Senior CAMHS Occupational Therapists are responsible for delivering evidence-based, patient-focused services and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for children and adolescents aged 0–18 years.
  • Support young people in improving emotional regulation, participation in school, family life and community engagement.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary CAMHS team.
  • Develop individualised intervention programmes.
  • Facilitate individual and group-based interventions.
  • Provide support and supervision to staff grade Occupational Therapists and students.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and outcome measures.
  • Participate in service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with families, schools and community agencies.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or Master’s qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current CORU registration.
  • Minimum three years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Experience working in CAMHS, mental health or paediatric services.
  • Experience supporting children and adolescents with ADHD and neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Strong MDT working skills.
  • Excellent communication and clinical reasoning abilities.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous CAMHS experience.
  • Experience delivering sensory regulation interventions.
  • Group work experience.
  • Driving Licence 
  • Autism and ADHD assessment and intervention experience.
  • Supervision of junior staff or students.
  • Training in sensory integration or related therapeutic approaches.
