Staff Grade Psychologist

PE Global Healthcare is recruiting for a Staff-Grade Clinical Psychologist based in South Dublin.

This is an initial maternity leave cover which could lead to a permanent position.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and competencies:

Qualifications:

• A recognised third-level degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with first or second-class honours in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honours were obtained in that subject, and which is accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland.
• A recognised postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health.

Essential:

• At least 1 year of satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology.
• Applicants must demonstrate that they have acquired, in appropriate health settings (i.e. Adult Mental Health/Psychiatry of Later Life), at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification, or at least 60 days or equivalent post-qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist in adult mental health.
• Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Desirable:

• Post-qualification experience working within adult mental health/psychiatry of later life.
• Experience working within a mental health rehabilitation setting/framework.
• Training in cognitive-behavioural therapy.
• Training/expertise in at least one other therapeutic modality (e.g. family therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, schema therapy, emotion-focused therapy, compassion-focused therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy).
