ADON – Neuro / ABI Unit – Galway

PE Global Healthcare in partnership with our client a Residential Care and Rehabilitation Centre based in Galway are recruiting an ADON with strong management experience, ideally with Neuro /ABI background.

This ADON would work in the Neuro Rehab Unit. At present the unit has 14 complex residents and they are looking to expand this unit. It’s for adults from 18 with ABI injuries or medical injuries. It’s a complex unit with trachy – Peg – ventilators

The ADON will be responsible for the running of the unit and also growing the unit. It’s a separate unit to the nursing home but the ADON will from time to time cover holidays and have involvement in the management of nursing home as well.

The client will assist with a relocation package for the right candidate. Salary is negotiable pending experience we are looking at salary of circa €60K to €65K but will be flexible for the right person.  They are also happy to pay for all educational supports including QQI level 9 Leadership & Management Course.

Full-time | Permanent | 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing in the day-to-day management of clinical services

• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, policies, and procedures. Lead, mentor, and support nursing and care staff.

• Oversee clinical audits, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives

• Promote a high standard of person-centred care

• Act as senior clinical lead in the absence of the Director of Nursing

Essential Requirements 

• Registered Nurse (RGN) with active NMBI registration

• Previous experience as Assistant Director of Nursing, CNM, or Senior Nurse (essential)

• Strong knowledge of HIQA regulations and clinical governance

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

• Experience in elderly care, rehabilitation, or complex care is desirable

• Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria may not be considered.

• The ideal candidate will have senior leadership and strong clinical governance and people management experience.
