The Role

PE Global are recruiting for a Senior Architect and Building Compliance Specialist for our electricity client based in Dublin Airport. This is a 12-month contract role. Hybrid working options.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the Architectural design function for assigned projects
  • Promote and take ownership for the safety and quality management culture on assigned projects.
  • Identify and engage with internal and external stakeholders to accurately define project scope, programme requirements and available budget.
  • Coordination of external consultants during the design and construction phases of assigned projects.
  • Contract administration during the construction phase of assigned projects.
  • Develop and manage project implementation plans covering key aspects of scope, programme and cost.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements and procedures in respect of Planning, Fire Safety, Safety & Health and other enactments.
  • Ensure that information is managed and maintained appropriately and consistent with procedures.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and expertise to project teams on architectural matters such as:
  • Feasibility & Design Implementation
  • Contract Management
  • Building Control Compliance
  • Sustainable Design in line with industry best practice
  • Fulfil the duties of Design Certifier and/or Assigned Certifier under the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations.
  • Manage consultants, review technical reports and progress solutions to technical issues that arise.

 

Education and Experience

  • NFQ Level 8 Degree in Architecture or a related discipline, or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Registered Architect status, in accordance with Section 18 (1) of the Building Control Act 2007
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a consultant architect, and a project portfolio demonstrating strong design skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant Irish regulations, legislation, policy and guidance.
  • Demonstrate good design awareness relating to project type and constraints of commercial viability, budget and procurement path.
  • Demonstrable experience in the successful delivery of large, complex architectural projects, including Design Team leadership involving direction of in-house and external design team consultants.
  • Demonstrable experience in Contract Administration, and knowledge of the regulatory framework of Planning, Building Control and general regulations relevant to architectural projects.
  • Demonstrable competence and experience in safety management, including the role of Project Supervisor Design Phase (PSDP).
  • Ability to undertake appropriate investigation for the preparation of the design brief for a project.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret the Customer’s needs and requirements and contribute to the production of an appropriate project brief and to critically review a brief prepared by others.
  • Demonstrate ability to conduct efficient decision making and problem solving in collaboration with other key internal stakeholders.
  • The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Fulfil the duties of Design Certifier and/or Assigned Certifier under the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car.
