CONSULTANT – PAEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (PICU)

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting experienced Consultant Paediatric Intensive Care Physicians to join established Government hospitals across Saudi Arabia.

These opportunities are available within 150–250 bed hospitals located across various regions of the Kingdom, offering experienced Consultants the opportunity to work within established healthcare environments while gaining valuable international experience.

The Role

As a Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care, you will be responsible for providing high-quality specialist care to critically ill children requiring intensive monitoring, organ support and complex medical management.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the delivery of safe, evidence-based and patient-centred paediatric critical care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist Consultant-level care to critically ill paediatric patients.

• Assess, diagnose and manage children requiring intensive care.

• Lead the management of complex and critically ill patients within the PICU.

• Provide appropriate airway, respiratory, cardiovascular and haemodynamic support.

• Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation and other forms of advanced organ support.

• Participate in emergency and critical care management.

• Undertake Consultant-led ward and intensive care rounds.

• Review investigations, imaging and laboratory results and formulate appropriate treatment plans

  Candidate Eligibility

  • Recognised specialist qualification in Paediatric Intensive Care with appropriate PICU experience or an equivalent recognised specialty qualification.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience following completion of the highest specialist qualification. – CCT 

  • Strong experience in the management of critically ill paediatric patients.

  • Demonstrable Consultant-level clinical experience.

    UK & Ireland Candidates

    For candidates trained in the UK or Ireland, we can only consider applicants who have successfully completed CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training).
